UNKLE - The Road: Part II / Lost Highway

"A mixtape and a journey...the ultimate road trip"

Following on from the critically acclaimed 'The Road: Part I', James Lavelle's UNKLE returns with the follow up 'The Road: Part II / Lost Highway', split across two parts with 22 tracks, James described this journey as having "more of a mixtape aesthetic being the ultimate road trip". The DJ, producer and triphop pioneer this time recorded the album with the aid of Mark Lanegan, Keaton Henson, Tom Smith (Editors), Mick Jones (The Clash), Leila Moss (The Duke Spirit), Dhani Harrison (son of George), Troy van Leeuwen + Jon Theodore (QOTSA), Ysée (Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds), Tessa Angus (Brian Eno) and producers Justin Stanley, Chris Goss, BOC and Philip Sheppard. Spoken-word contributions are provided by legendary Scottish actor Brian Cox and Stanley Kubrick’s widow Christiana. The two names who crop up most throughout the record however are rising West London singer and producer Miink and experimental rapper Elliott Power.
