Tonar Record Weight Black (760g)

This record weight is used to ensure a full contact between the vinyl disc and the turntable platter. Many of the older records on the market were either warped from the time they were pressed or have become warped in time due to bad storage. A warped record causes enormous problems for the cartridge and stylus to track the groove properly. The pressure on the stylus fluctuates because the stylus is strongly forced up and down during playback as it rides up and down the warps in the record. ??This causes bad reproduction of the sound and - in extreme cases - the stylus can even lose contact with the groove causing irreparable damage to the record. By using the Tonar record weight the record will be pressed flat against the turntable platter causing it to become temporarily less warped during playback.
